The Rise of Latino Golf: Culture, Community, and a Growing Game

Golf in America is changing, and the Latino golf community is becoming a bigger part of that story.

The game is reaching more people, becoming more diverse, and finding new life through social media, entertainment, events, fashion, and communities that are making golf feel more welcoming.

According to the National Golf Foundation, participation among golfers of color has grown significantly in recent years. PGA of America has also reported that the Hispanic golfer population reached its highest level in nearly two decades of tracking, with 3.31 million Hispanic on-course golfers and 24% growth since 2019.

Golf Is Becoming More Diverse

In 2025, 7.7 million Asian, Black and Hispanic golfers played on a golf course in the United States, representing a record 26% of traditional golfers. Off the course, diversity is even greater: people of color account for 45% of golfers who exclusively participate through places like simulators and golf entertainment venues.

That matters because golf isn't only being introduced through the traditional country-club experience anymore.

People are discovering the game through friends, creators, driving ranges, simulators, tournaments, social events and online content.

Latino Golf Is About More Than Playing

For many Latino golfers, there's an opportunity to bring something else to the course: culture.

Music. Food. Family. Humor. Style. Community.

Organizations across the country are already building around that idea. The Latina Golfers Association says it has introduced thousands of people to golf through clinics, tournaments, networking and other programs, while the Latino Golf Association hosts golf experiences built around community, culture and connection.

Golf doesn't have to lose its traditions to make room for new ones.
